Without somebody nothing aint worth a dime

Two young people without a thing
Say some vows and spread their wings
Settle down with just what they need
Livin on love

She dont care 'bout whats in style
She just likes the wayhe smiles
It takes more than marble and tile
Livin on love

Livin on love, buyin on time
Without somebody nothing aint worth a dime
Just like an old fashioned story book rhyme
Livin on love
It sounds simple thats what you're thinkin'
But love can walk through fire without blinkin'
It doesnt take much when you get enough
Livin' on love

Two old people without a thing
Children gone but still they sing
Side by side in that front porch swing
Livin on love
He cant see anymore
And she can barely sweep the floor
Hand in hand they'll walk through that door
Just livin on love

Livin on love, buyin on time
Without somebody nothing aint worth a dime
Just like an old fashioned story book rhyme
Livin on love
It sounds simple thats what you're thinkin'
But love can walk through fire without blinkin'
It doesnt take much when you get enough
Livin' on love
No it doesnt take much when you get enough
Livin' on love

Isn’t that what we all want? One person to spend our lives with, to not have to waste our time with relationships that you invest in and then just somehow have to throw those feelings out the window when it no longer “works”? ….For me, relationships are hard. I am the kind of person where it’s hard for me to date someone if I can’t see myself marrying them, it’s just really difficult . I honestly dread dating. Don’t get me wrong. I love getting to know people and feeling needed and wanted, who doesn’t right? It’s just  when I get to know someone, when I see the real them, it’s so easy for me to love the simple things they have to offer. I see the good, I start to care. For me, my feelings run deep. It’s hard for me to just slowly settle into a relationship if I’m really into them, I jump head first and they end up thinking about it later. I’m sure that’s not totally bad, right? At least I feel, I put my all into it, right? No. not always…. Isn’t there a saying out there. Those who care the least have the most power…. How true is that, yet how BACKWARDS. In all reality I want the best. And I don’t mean looks or money or anything worldly. I mean a good guy with outstanding morals that with all his heart just wants to treat me well. I know no relationship is perfect, I don’t expect that.  I just want equal participation from both parties. That’s all I want. To love and be loved. And I will find it someday. To my future Husband, where ever you are.  Just know, I’m waiting, even though I struggle sometimes… I know you’re more than worth it. I love you.

What can I say?

It’s the doors we open and close each day that decide the lives we live.

We make choices
Then in turn have to deal with them.
Hasn’t it always been this way?
So then why now, why now
Are we faced with trying choices
Looking at logistics and having a hard time comprehending?

Is it really that hard?

Humble yourself like unto a child.
Try and see life through their eyes
Simple. Clear. Honest and True.
There the closest thing we have to heaven.

Embrace the T r u t h .

Is it really that hard?

Humble yourselves like unto a child.
try and see life through there eyes,
Simple. Clear. Honest and True.
there the closest thing we have to heaven.

I believe in the sun, even when it is not shining... In love even when I am alone.. And in God even when he is silent.

Too Often

Too often do we

take things for granted.

Too often do we

look past the simple joys in life.

Too often do we

get caught up in our day to

take a step back and see our lives

for what they truly are.

Too often do we

not help others

Too often do we

shut our ears to things
we don’t want to hear

Too often do we

not see past our own noses.

Too often do we

not take a chance for we fear rejection

Too often are we
arfraid to be ourselves.

What i wouldn't givee.

Every day

I drive to work across Flint River bridge
A hundred yards from the spot where me and grandpa fished
There's a piece of his old fruit stand on the side of Sawmill Road
He'd be there peelin' peaches  if it was twenty years ago
And what I wouldn't give
To ride around in that old truck with him
If heaven wasn't so far away
I'd pack up the kids and go for the day
Introduce them to their grandpa
Watch 'em laugh at the way he talks
I'd find my long lost cousin John
The one we left back in Vietnam
Show him a picture of his daughter now
She's a doctor and he'd be proud
Then tell him we'd be back in a couple of days
In the rear view mirror we'd all watch 'em wave
Yeah, and losing them wouldn't be so hard to take
If heaven wasn't so far away
I'd hug all three of those girls we lost from the class of '99
And I'd find my bird dog Bo and take him huntin' one more time
I'd ask Hank why he took those pills back in '53
And Janis to sing the second verse of "Me and Bobby McGee"
Sit on a cloud and visit for a while
It'd do me good just to see them smile
If heaven wasn't so far away
I'd pack up the kids and go for the day
Introduce them to their grandpa
Watch 'em laugh at the way he talks
I'd find my long lost cousin John
The one we left back in Vietnam
Show him a picture of his daughter now
She's a doctor and he'd be proud
Then tell him we'd be back in a couple of days
In the rear view mirror we'd all watch 'em wave
Yeah, and losing them wouldn't be so hard to take
If heaven wasn't so far

If heaven wasn't so far away

we are all looking for answers

in medicine, in life, in everything. sometimes the answers we were looking for were hiding just below the surface. other times, we find answers when we didn't realize we were asking a question. sometimes, the answers can catch us completely by surprise. and sometimes, even when we find the answer we've been looking for, we're still left with a whole helluva lot of questions.

Think about it

"Do all the good you can, in all the ways you can, to all the souls you can, in every place you can, at all the times you can, with all the zeal you can, as long as ever you can” - John Wesley
